IFT Advertising Campaign

POSTER

This poster was created by Dan. He used photoshop to create the poster.

DVD’s

These are the DVD’s that we created for Vision Shorts: Night Music. Instead of putting an image of the poster in the background of the DVD, we decided to put the Independent Film Trust logo because we wanted to show / advertise the Independent Film Trust. When making the DVD’s, we used Photoshop.

DVD SLEEVE

This is the DVD sleeve that we created for the DVD disks. On the cover, we used the poster of Night Music. We put a title on the top of the DVD sleeve which says ‘Vision Shorts presents Night Music’. We added a barcode at the bottom back of the DVD sleeve so that if people wanted to purchase the DVD they would have to have it scanned either by a normal checkout or buy a android/smartphone. We also added a 4 star rating at the bottom of the front DVD sleeve. This is help change the customers views on the DVD because of its rating. We even put a small quote which says ” a brilliant film that will stun the crowd”.

RAFFLE TICKETS

These are the raffle tickets that we created by me and my team. For our USP, we used iconic movies stars such as Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe & Michael Caine on the raffle ticket. We used photoshop to create / edit the images.

RAINDANCE COMPANY

Elliot Grove founded the Raindance Film Festival in 1993, the British Independent Film Awards in 1998, and Raindance.TV in 2007. He has produced over 150 short films and 5 feature films. He has written eight scripts, one of which is currently in pre-production. His first feature film, Table 5, was shot on 35mm and completed for a total of £278.38.

He teaches writers and producers in the UK, Europe, Japan and America. He has written two books which have become industry standards: RAINDANCE WRITERS LAB (Focal Press 2002) and RAINDANCE PRODUCERS LAB(2004). His first novel The Bandit Queen is scheduled for publication in 2010.

Film School in a Box:

Film School in a Box (FSIB) was set up by The Independent Film Trust and the Raindance organisation in order to support disadvantaged, homeless or refugee kids to communicate through film-making. Each of these organisations has been involved with a number of charitable projects, working with community centres and schools. One 2008 course which worked particularly well was a two-day screenwriting, film-making and editing intensive, in conjunction with Royal Holloway, one of the four largest multi-faculty colleges of the University of London.

EVALUATION FOR CASE STUDY & IFT PROJECT

As a class project we were given the task of creating and producing presentations for our Case Study and IFT Project. We had to produce advertising campaign proposals, mood boards and briefs to help promote the IFT campaign.

Our case study was on the Bourne Supremacy. Me and my group had to do conduct research into an advertising campaign based on The Bourne Supremacy and create a presentation based off of our research. We started by researching about the film, who directed it, who starred in, what the synopsis of the film was, who the target audience was etc. After we had gathered all the research for the advertising campaign we then started to create our presentation. We annotated & summarised the information and we conducted our research onto 10 slides in the following areas: Info, The Audience, Reason for Campaign, Comparisons, Advertising, Platforms, Success, Links & Bibliography. We also focused on the Demographics, Psychographics & the Geographic’s.

Another part of our project was the researching the IFT. Me and my group had to produce/create an advertising campaign, a campaign proposal, designed mock ups for a DVD Sleeve, A DVD Disk, Raffle Tickets, Poster & a Mood Board. We then had to produce a near professional standard presentation to present to Neil McCartney, Chairman of the IFT.

When we started we looked on different websites regarding the IFT. The websites we searched on were:

We took the information that we found and applied it into the presentation that we will show the chairman of the IFT.

Our target market for the IFT campaign was based on different things. We looked at the age of the audience that will be targeted, we looked at gender, we looked at who will be interested in the IFT and the campaign, we looked at the Geographic’s and the Demographics, we looked at the which forms of media we could use in the campaign and we also looked at our USP strategy that will help us promote the campaign. We created a mood board about the IFT that help us analyse and summarise the information that we were going to use in our presentation. In the mood board we discussed what the IFT was about, the connotation of the colours that are used in the logo and about the founder of the IFT, Elliot Grove.

We designed a DVD Sleeve, a DVD Disk, Raffle Tickets and a Poster. They were all designed via Photoshop.

We wanted to create designs that we felt would fit well with the IFT and Vision Shorts. Each and every design that we created was carefully thought out. We thought about what the audience might want to see and based our designs on that. The final PowerPoint presentation that will be presented consists of all the work that me and my team created.

Overall, I believe that the work that my group and I have created was a success. I believe that we all work well and communicated on a professional level. If there was anything that I would improve about the work that my group and I created, it would be nothing. I believe we worked to our best ability and the work that we have produced is really good.

THE INDEPENDENT FILM TRUST CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL

Intro & Aim:

As a group project we were asked to create a campaign proposal for the Independent Film Trust. In our campaign we came up with different unique selling points to help promote the Independent Film Trust. We also created design mock ups for the Independent Film Trust such as; a DVD sleeve, a DVD disk and Raffle Tickets. The aim of our campaign is to publicize the Independent Film Trust. We are trying to bring social awareness to the IFT so that the public can make their own independent judgement on the company and what they do.

Target Audience:

Target Audience for Campaign:

  • 16+/20+
  • All Genders, Both Male and Female
  • The campaign is targeted to film makers, younger students who are interested in films and others who are fascinated by the film genre.
  • In terms of Geographic’s, our campaign is targeted to all locations around the United Kingdom.
  • In terms of physiographic we target teenage culture aged between 16-20. We accept all lifestyles.

USP:

We have devised different unique selling points to help promote the campaign. We will be making raffle tickets which will be on sale at nearest convenient store, community halls and local cinema. The raffle tickets contain a prize if you win, competitions, a year’s worth of free cinema tickets, exclusive membership for people who register to the Independent Film Trust and a free copy of an Independent Film that was funded by the charity IFT.

We are using images of iconic film stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth. This will help widen the audience because people who have a common interest in old iconic film stars will want to join our campaign and learn about new techniques in the film industry. For people who are unaware about the IFT and the film genres, it will be a new learning experience for them.

Justify The Media Form:

One media form that we chose to use as an advertising strategy is raffle tickets. The audience who purchase the raffle tickets are making a gamble because there is a chance that they could either win or lose. The audience are under the belief that they have a chance in winning a prize so from optimism they will purchase a ticket.

The poster we designed will help promote the Independent Film Trust as well as the film ‘Night Music’. In the bottom of the left hand corner of the poster is the IFT logo this will help promote the IFT. The background helps represent the title of the film. We have two screen grabs of the films that are made/funded by the Independent Film Trust.
